Believers In Medicine came from somewhere you never thought you''d want to
go. It''s a dark mix of seventies British metal, drug use, and the modern occult.
Rainbows Are Free have summoned forces that instantly bring to mind the
heaviest music from contemporaries with whom they''ve shared the stage (High
on Fire, The Sword, The Black Angels, Dead Meadow, Black Mountain,
Lions, Burning Brides) and recall their dark roots from being lifetime fans of
classic stoner metal and proto-doom (Deep Purple, Pentagram, Electric
Wizard).
Rainbows Are Free are currently holding regular séances on the road and on the
festival circuit with the sole goal of raising the spirit of Aladdin Sane to add
tambourine backing to their always raucous live shows. The band, lead by bald,
seven foot tall Brandon Kistler, continues to amaze often jaded indie club
audiences, due in no small part to the guitar prowess of Richie Tarver and the
powerful rhythm section of Chad Hogue, bass and Bobby Onspaugh, drums.
Matt Duckworth (courtesy of Warner Bros.-Stardeath & White Dwarfs) filled
in as guest drummer for Rainbows during the recording of Believers in Medicine,
amazing everyone involved in the process.
PRESS:
"they genuinely fire up the burners and kick ass with a lumbering gallop, fuzzed-out
leads and Brandon Kistlers straight-edge Ozzy vocals"
- Kevin Stuart-Panko Decibel Magazine
“...sounds just like Mother Love Bone if theyd been smoking pot and dropping brown acid
instead of doing smack...” -Michael Ballue, Hellfire Music
"That''s actually when we knew we really liked this band, that they were willing to roam
outside the standard stoner rawk template" -Aquarius Records
“...awakens the spirits of metal that have lain dormant within all rock fans since the
1980s and screams alongside them.” - Sound Interpreting
