I''m happy to present a nice mixture of happy banjo music with this, my 6th album. As well as popular tunes from the 1920''s such as "Sweet Georgia Brown", I''ve also included "Rubenstein''s Melody in F", "Rodrigo''s guitar concerto" and tried the unique sound of the banjo on light "pop" evergreens such as "Michelle", "If" and "Lara''s theme". I really enjoy exploring the possibilities the banjo has to offer and I''m sure you will enjoy the results.
I''ve noticed of late that the ukulele is once again popular so I have offered a couple of tunes on this album, "Wabash blues" and a tune of my own composition "Spotty Doggie", which our pet Dalmation inspired !
The plectrum banjo takes on a new sound once the mute is applied to it''s bridge and it''s light, lute-like sound is heard on "Somewhere my love/Lara''s them", adding a different aspect to the instrument.
My good friend Andy Leggett plays the wonderful bass saxophone on this album.
I hope you get lots of fun from my music.
Best wishes,
Sean Moyses.
