Alfabeats Nu Jazz originated in the mid 90''2 under the name DMA Urban Jazz Funk. After a few CD''s, videos and numerous festivals, tours and "live" performances throughout Europe and America, there was an artistic breakthrough. In 2004 with the new foundation of the band, the name changed to Alfabeats Nu Jazz with hip-hop and acoustic new age which created and unpredictable and amazing kind of urban music yet rooted in jazz and improgressive rock, wrapped with impressive lyrics. Reference is made to Coltrane, jazz, hip-hop, trip-hop, ambient with an eye to King Crimson, Traffic, Soft Machine with a new age awareness, a new alfabeatical code to decipher the nu sound. This band is of remarkable interest for the international specialized critique and press. As a result, was able to tour Europe and America with numerous features in International festivals such as the Montreal Jazz Festival in Canada, San Sebistian Jazz FEstival in Spain, Cervantino International Music Festival in Mexico, and the Ocho Rios Jazz Festival in Jamacia. In addition to these festivals, this band has performed at jazz festivals in Estonia, Venezuela, Toronto, Greece, Germany, Lithuania, Switzerland, Slovenia, Croatia just to mention a few.
Through the years, the band established a wide range of experiences that shows in a mature effort with their first CD "Urban Jazz Funk" which met with a favorable response from their audience and the international jazz critic and media. The "New" CD "Stones" from Alfabeats Nu Jazz has already received rave reviews since it''s release October 2006.
