Brayton’s Way consists of guitarist/vocalist Josh Lanzet, bassist Mark Falcon, pianist Yoni Dolgin, and percussionist Rajiv Ravishankar. The band’s unique sound “combines the loving lyrical playfulness of Barenaked Ladies with the technical prowess of Blues Traveler” – Mike Murphy, DJ WQHS Philadelphia. Two Brayton’s Way songs, “Night Hours” and “Late Rain,” have begun to gain popularity due to the air time they have received at WQHS, WXBC and WRCU in New York, as well as KWUR in St. Louis.
Over the past year, the band has performed at several NYC venues, among them the Bitter End, Crash Mansion, Coda, and Lion’s Den. Complementing the band’s raw musical talent is a warm stage presence that makes a show even more memorable. Connecting with the audience is not forced, but in fact comes naturally to this comical and outgoing group. It is this duality that makes a Brayton’s Way show so captivating and brilliant.
After creating 2 EPs, Brayton’s Way released their first full-length album in November 2006. The twelve new or re-mastered tracks off the self-titled CD feature a warmer sound but still retain Lanzet’s uniquely mature, lyrical wit. Brayton’s Way continues to push acoustic rock to new heights by layering riffs with smooth, jazzy keyboard melodies, adding more composed elements to their song structure. The band will debut that style this coming January, as they head back to New York City for their third tour this year.
