His avant garde associations include working as a founding member of the 70''s New York Jazz cult band TARIKA BLUE, participating and recording with free Jazz trumpeter DON CHERRY''s DC big band project, holding a chair in progressive saxophonist ODEAN POPE''S saxophone choir, and performing a number of mystical flute/drum duos with the legendary ROY HAYNES.
