Details:
Christine Madden, Pauline Woodley, and Dave Loo are also known as Ravendeer. This is the newest CD to their collection. The first CD called Songs Of The Soul was a compilation of Native American Flute Songs to relax and calm your soul. Now, 6 years later, this latest CD is a continuation of the beautiful Native American Flute Music that was started in the first CD. The group was formed around 2000 in San Francisco,California. All members of this group continually stayed connected to the Native American world. As a group they have performed all over the Bay Area as well outer areas, such as St. Matthew''s School in San Mateo,Ca, New Years Eve Pow Wow at Fremont High School in Sunnyvale,Ca, Fremont High School Graduation in Sunnyvale, Ca, San Jose State AISES, DQ University Reception in San Francisco,Ca, PBS T.V., (Native American Heritage in Tampa,Fl), In 2001 they played at the Arizona Flute Odyssey, Stanford Hospital, San Jose College, San Bruno Nursing Home, University Of California in Santa Barbara,Ca, Santa Barbara Arts Center, at many festivals and Pow Wows in California. To their credits they have done numerous stage shows such as Native American Musical Play(Dancing The Circle), Crazy Horse Play in San Francisco,Ca, Private Fund Raisers in San Jose,Ca and have done backup music for Curly Bear Wagner(Blackfeet Storyteller).
Dave Loo comes from a mixed heritage background of Chinese and Japanese descent and he is from Hawaii, but now he lives in San Francisco,CA. He is always full of music and energy, but a very quiet man. His Native American Flute and his music talks for him. People have told him when they see him play they see Chiefs dancing all around him. He can play any wooden or clay flute. His talents includes drumming, rattles, whistles, didjeridoos and he can sing too. He is a builder and contractor in the Bay area at present. He loves anything having to do with Native American Indian history, arts, crafts and spiritual teachings.
Christine Madden comes from a mixed heritage background of Blackfeet, Creek, Irish, English and Black American descent. She is a very creative musician in this group. We all have our specialties when it comes to getting a CD out. Watch out, she is a perfectionist. She is the most loving person you would ever meet. She had been trained as a nurse and dedicated her life to that profession for twenty five years. She is now in retirement but is still active in bringing her flute music to others. She taught herself how to play the Native American Flute after being gifted a Native American Flute off the Blackfeet Reservation in Browning, Montana. The Native American Flute called to her on the Blackfeet Reservation. The rest is history! The Native American Flute started playing her. It gave her the songs to play. She has a sweet melodic voice in her vocals and her flute playing is that of an Angel. She credits Creator for all the music that you hear on the CD.
Pauline Woodley also known as Woody, a creative musician and watercolor artist. She was raised in New York City and continues searching for her roots in the Native American community. She is of Irish and German descent, but suspects her maternal grandmother was of Cree descent. She was in the Nursing profession over twenty five years and is now in retirement due to an auto accident which had limited her mobility. Due the prayers of the flute community, friends and family, Pauline recovered. Pauline did the collage in our CD. Her sense of timing and rhythm, was a blessing in her contributions on some of the tracks of the CD. Pauline also taught herself how to play the flute with the help of Christine. She plays her songs beautifully with percise notes and breathing. Her songs are rich with spirit and heart. She plays drums and rattles also.
The CD is called - One Fire, One Heart, One Spirit, One Circle. This will be their second CD they have put out. Barry Higgins aka White Crow Flutes did the art work on the front of the CD. It took them two years to make it.
Every breath we have is a gift from Creator, so all the songs also belong to Him.
