In the tradition of the first CD, "Lunar Echoes", Dragonsol continues their thematic New Age sound of ethereal melodies over rich backgrounds. This CD is more textured, using a broader palate of layered sythesizer under the acoustic and traditional instruments. The melodies in "Den of Dragons" tend to favor more Eastern influence, and lend to a nice mysterious air in several of the songs. Fans of the first CD will find familiar territory in the style of Dragonsol, but will hear a definite evolution in their approach to arrangements. The songs reflect their titles well in the imagery of the music. A nice listen with some interesting and original applications of instrument blending.
