It is unique in our time, to have a sound capture the mind of the public and hold it for years despite the avalanche of "New Sounds." Such is the emotional, straightforward, honest sound of Nick Lucas.
Nick Lucas, known as the "Singing Troubadour," was the first to replace the banjo with the guitar in many of the big name bands of the day, His first records in which he accompanied himself on the guitar became instant hits. Nick''s tremendous popularity in the United States spread to England where his records became best sellers and created a demand for personal apperances in London where he set attendance records at the Cafe De Paris, Kit Kat Club and the world famous London Palladium.
It was while Nick was appearing at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles that he was signed to do the picture "Gold Diggers of Broadway." It was in that picture that Nick introduced "Tip Toe Through The Tulips" a song that is synonymous with his career.
Now avalible for the first time in almost thirty years, this "SOUVENIR ALBUM" is a prize package for the fans of Nick Lucas because it contains many of the songs he introduced and made popular. Here are twelve melodic reasons why his career had been a brilliant one and you will find the "Nick Lucas Sound" as fresh and as welcome as it was on his first hit record.
