Nick Martin is a unique signer songwriter. Many have said that his music is like Johnny Cash meets Neil Young.
Nick has been writing, performing, doing session work and producing for many years. After several years in Nashville, Nick moved to New York where he lives with his family.
Nick has worked with many renowned musicians including Nashville super studio stars: Bruce Watkins, Hoot Hester, John Willis, Mike Severs, Sonny Garrish, Hal Rugg, Ronnie Hughes, Rodger Morris, Jerry Kroon, Dennis Wilson, Susan Jacks and Eddie Burton.
Nick''s co-writer on three of the songs on this EP, Tomas grew up in Brooklyn and has been a factor in the New York City music scene since the 80s.
Nicks musical interests are quite diverse. He has created a unique sound which is proving widely popular. His MySpace page has had 48,000 views and 100,000 plays in just five months. His interests range from Country to R&B to Folk Rock. In many of his songs you will find all three genres in the same song. Strong harmonies are always present.
"Lonesome Time" is about a forlorn lover awaiting his execution for killing his lover or is it?
"Better Day" is about living in the now.
"Time to Cry" is about the lingering end of many relationships.
"Circle" is an uncomfortable song with a very strong message about abuse.
"Whiskey Whiskey" is the only song that Nick covers. Nick first heard this song on a Kris Kristofferson Live CD and after performing it live to appreciative audiences, decided to include it on his this debut EP.
