When listening to Jami it is difficult to decide which he does better, singing or writing. Jami’s writing abilities are in the range of a Hank Williams or a John Lennon. An artist that can combine the ability to write a hit song with a remarkably pleasing singing voice like Jami’s is bound for stardom.

Jami''s musical influences are songwriters and performers like Jim Croce, John Prine,Merle Haggard, Elvis and Hank Williams, Jr. He finds inspiration for his songs from life and real human emotions. He is a blood relative to one of the founding members of the legendary "Black Oak Arkansas".

Jami has come a long way as an artist and songwriter since being in Nashville. He received several single song contracts from Charlie Craig of Song Machine Music for songs he had written like the popular “Two Teddy Bears”. Charlie Craig and Jami have co wrote many tunes that have been taken by several major labels in Nashville. Jami also has a couple of songs on hold by major artist. He and Warner Chapel writer Shaun Ames (Bush Hog) have a contract to write a theme song for an upcoming sitcom called "Drivers Ed". Also, Mark Narmore who wrote Craig Morgan’s number one hit “That’s What I Love About Sunday” and Jami wrote a song called “Paid For It” that is making noise all over music row, and was influential in getting Jami a Publishing Deal with legendary Muscle Shoals producer Rick Hall at Big Muscle Music a division of FAME. Jami has also been staying busy doing Demo’s for Publishing Companies in and around Nashville.

Jami has been spendng his time now writing with people like James LeBlanc, Billy Lawson, Alex Dooley, Mark Narmore, Shuan Ames, Jenny Farrell, Cris Moore, Mitch Olgesby, Tony Ramey, and spending time with his hero''s like Bobby Pinson and Charlie Craig.

Outside of writing Jami loves performing and has been featured on radio shows like the "Billy Block Western Beat" and the KIX 96 "Muscle Shoals To Music Row". He can also be found thru out the Southeast playing Honky Tonks, headlining festivals, and opening for major label acts.

Jami has been receiving favorable attention from major labels in Nashville interested in signing him on as an artist. He loves writing and performing and believes that in the near future his dream as a recording artist will be realized. His friends in and out of the music industry and admirers are certain of it.
