Details:
I was born in 1951 to Corbett and Vera Wooten and lived in Cleveland, Ga. till my mid 20’s. I started playing guitar around the age of 12 after talking my Dad into buying an acoustic guitar. He found one for $12 at a pawn shop. It was a Stella and it was instant love. I loved the shape, the sound, and the way it felt. It wasn’t long till I was introduced to Chet Atkins via a couple of old Chet albums my Dad had found for me. That did it for me. After that, I don’t remember much that
didn’t involve guitar. I became obsessed with guitar. I went into my room with my guitar, my Chet Atkins/Merle Travis albums, and an old record player; I never came out,
metaphorically speaking, of course.
This album contains songs that are a tribute to the area where I lived as a kid, to my family, to my musical influences, and to something I wanted to do more than drive a car as a teenager, Play Guitar.
