Details:
After six years of playing together, three demos released and a lot of live gigs in and around Norrköping, supporting both Lisa Miskovsky and Anna Järvinen, Martin Karlsson & Tumbleweed Town has now released their first real album – “Monologues”. The album is wonderfully produced, with a very clear sound and a distinct sense of proximity.

The band shares members with several well-known bands from Norrköping, such as Motherload, Elweroth, Atom & Evil and Lydia. While composing the songs, songwriter Martin Karlsson has glanced at everything from Son Volt and Pink Floydish soundscapes to country music, sometimes in the same song! Prepare to hear yourself shouting “Quiet!” to your friends. “Listen! Here’s that transision I was talking about! Ohh!”

But Martin Karlsson & Tumbleweed town is primarily live band. And when they go up on stage, it’s all about the music and lyrics. The band has a passionate disinterest in makeup, choreography and fashionable shoes. They are convinced that the songs are enough in themselves. And they definitely are.

Tube noise textures are gently caressed out of the amplifiers. Knobs are turned with millimeter precision – the sound have to crack in exactly the right place. Getting the wonderful string noise of the acoustic guitars heard is almost as important as the order of the effect pedals.

Monologues exist mainly for you to enjoy Martin Karlsson & Tumbleweed Town between concerts, but the album is also urging you who have not yet seen the band live to get to their next show. But when you do, don’t make the common mistake of folding up your umbrella when you hear thunder – it’s Martin who gives the analog spring reverb a gentle kick.
