Nick Danielson, Assistant Concertmaster of the NYC Ballet Orchestra, and long time member of Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, is also well known in NYC''s Tango community. He has recorded with Fernando Otero, Paquito D''Rivera, and Pablo Ziegler. His latest CD with Otero, "Vital" (World Village) won the 2010 Latin Grammy for best classical album. Tango and Obsession is his first solo CD, and features his version of Zito''s " La Cumparsita " for solo violin. According to the New York Times, " Mr. Danielson played with charismatic vigor, tackling parts clearly intended to tweak the conventional language of his instrument ". Guest artists on the album include Fernando Otero, Gustavo Casenave, and Octavio Brunetti on piano, Hector DelCurto and Hector "Tito" Castro on bandoneon, and Pedro Giraudo on bass.
