Biografy:
Eddie Trujillo was born in Cuba November 8, 1972. He came with his family to Miami in 1980. Eddie Started playing guitar when his Father gave him the instrument as a gift at the age of ten. He soon fell in love with the guitar and decided to make music his passion and career. In High School, Eddie Trujillo was sitting in all the jam sessions around town. The recognition got him work with Ira Sullivan, Pete Minger, and other great musicians in Miami. Eddie say’s “being out there playing was the best schooling I have ever had”.
After High School, Eddie got a scholarship to attend Florida International University. There he got the chance to perform with many artists like Paquito D’Rivera, Tito Puentes, David Sandborn, Herb Elis, and many others. He also got the chance to meet Arturo Sandoval and record in Arturo’s Studio. During this time Eddie was also working around town and building a reputation for himself as a guitar player. Eddie graduated from F.I.U. with a bachelor’s in music and is now music director at El Buen Samaritano Christian Church.
In 2005 Eddie decided to record his first self-titled CD. The musicians that contributed are some of the best musicians in town, Mike Orta on piano, Niky Orta on bass, Ed Maina on tenor, Abner Torres on drums, and Richard Bravo on percussion. There are many different styles that show Eddie’s versatility on the CD. From latin, pop, bossa nova, salsa, funk, jazz, and even chacha. The Cd contains 14 songs 4 of which are originals and the other 10 are old hymns that Eddie arranged.
Eddie thanks God for everything in his life, specially, to have had the chance to study music in this country and to have had so many opportunities to learn from the best. Eddie’s talent and ability to play the guitar more than shows his gratitude for the music he so much loves.
