Virginia based singer/songwriter Mark Smilor blends his style of music with folk, country, and rock. His lyrics have been described as very pure, well written,
and brutally honest whether they are about himself or someone else. Live shows are usually stripped down acoustic sets where between songs he shares stories
with his dry, sideways sense of humor.
In support of his second album “Wanderlust” which was released on Dec,5 2006 he is set once again to tour in support of the album. The last recording entitled “The Ugly Naked Truth” had him playing various venues along the
east coast and mid-west and even afforded him the opportunity to open up for a few natoinal acts. He also built a small but dedicated following in which he
hopes to expand on with the coming tour.
Playing on Wanderlust with him were Rick Ropetski and vocalist Stacy Dunlap and producer Billy Joe Cain. He has been playing music since the age of 12 and performing regularly for the last 13 years. Starting out locally for many years he decided it was time to take his act out to other places when “The Ugly Naked Truth” was released. With the new album out, better promotions, and
a distribution deal he is looking forward to playing to a lot of new faces and seeing some of the old ones again.
