Details:
Hello, my name is Bruce Entrekin. I am a 6''2", 210 pound, singer/songwriter trying to promote my music. I was born and raised in Biloxi, Mississippi, and am proud to be from a state where many famous people got their start.
My musical influences are all the classics: Hank Williams,Sr.,and Jr., Merel Haggard, David Allen Coe, with a touch of Stevie Ray Vaughn and Buddy Holley mixed in.
My band, Due South, and I have played at both public and private events, as well as doing the nightclub circuit and the occasional benefit. We were the opening band at the annual A-1 Trade World Show for headliners Doug Kershaw, Freddie Fender, and Vern Gosdin. I have also won numerous karaoke contests.
I''ve recorded two CD''s (Down in Mobile and Goin'' Out Blues) and have recieved a 100% positive response for both. I have several small [for sale] displays distributed in rural locations; and so far, my CD''s are being played on approximately 90 jukeboxes throughout the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and in Mobile and the surrounding Alabama area.
The namesake of my first CD, "Down in Mobile", was aired on the Uncle Henry Show at WNTM radio in Mobile, Alabama; and I was featured as a local up-and-coming artist in an impromptu interview during a visit to WQYZ radio right here in Biloxi. Additionally, because of internet technology, my CD is also being listened to all across Europe and radio stations have been requesting hard copies to play on the air.
I recently became a member of the Nashville Songwriters Association International; and its brother chapter, the Mobile Songwriters Association. I also belong to ASCAP. I am promoting and distributing my second CD through https://www.tradebit.com and https://www.tradebit.com. Please click on, listen, and buy your copy today.
The words and music to my songs are best described as a refreshing reintroduction of traditional country music intertwined with a modern style and beat. The locals have dubbed me a cross between Alabama and Jimmy Buffet. My goal is to write and sing songs that will appeal not only to the ballad lovers, but also to the boot-scootin'' dancers, and everyone else in between. I''m noticing that although each person has his or her favorite song, I''m getting a good response to all the songs, not just the elusive one or two big hits. And here lately, the audiences have been singing the words along with me. I just couldn''t ask for a better compliment than that!
