Brian McNeill, singer, musician and songwriter describes him as "currently the best Scottish singer," and he should know, having produced Ed''s last 2 CD''s.
Ed''s repertoire covers the whole spectrum of Scottish folk music, from old ballads and songs of Robert Burns to more recent songs that adding to the huge store of Scots songs. If you are looking for Brigadoon and Braveheart Scottish nostalgic/romantic schlock, this is not the singer for you; but if you want good songs sung well, he''s your man.
When not on the road, Ed also hosts a long-running folk music show on Austin''s KUT-FM radio station, and he has expanded his activities into taking folksong based tours to Scotland each year, and teaching at various folk music camps.
On his recordings, Ed has wonderful help from top musicans such as Brian McNeill, John Taylor and Rich Brotherton
