Details:
This project began when Andy Porter and Rex Anderson left Entertainment System and moved west. Andy pursued his doctorate in economics and Rex followed his dream of becoming an audio engineer. The two decided to continue working on VGM together, starting with unused arrangements created during their tenure in ES. As Rex gained an internship at CCM Studios in Denver, Random Battles, a Postal Service-esque VGM project was born. The two took a DIY approach to the entire album; the arrangements, performances, mixing, mastering, packaging and artwork was all handled by Rex and Andy. These five tracks were selected to showcase Random Battles'' spastic, bombastic approach to video game arrangements. In the tradition of such live acts as Year 200x, Armcannon, This Place is Haunted, The One Ups, Powerglove, Entertainment System and Metroid Metal, we present Random Battles!
