Details:
The cream of Australia''s session musicians assembled at Joe Camilleri''s Woodstock Studios to support The Rocker & The Jazzer in recording this album. Sam See [Black Sorrows] and Wayne Duncan [Daddy Cool] are on lead & bass guitar respectively. Bruce Haymes [Paul Kelly] is on keyboards, Ed Bates [Sports] plays pedal steel and Tony Floyd [Black Sorrows] keeps the beat on drums. Chanteuse Cyndi Boste helped out with a couple of soulful vocals and the Oh Yeah Singers provided great backup. This album features bouncy Sixties Rock, some tender ballads and more than a touch of ironic Country Folk. Malcolm Arthur [The Rocker] was one of the trailblazers of Australian rock & roll. He appeared on stage with many of the visiting US rock heroes and starred in sell out concerts at large venues in the 1960''s. Tony Graham[ The Jazzer] was one of the pioneers of Australian Jazz Clubs and the founder of Esquire Club which was Melbourne''s premiere jazz venue in the late 1950''s. Together The Rocker & The Jazzer are not only great friends, but a formidable combination. Their breadth of musical knowledge extends from Jazz, through Rock via Folk to Country. This album showcases their passion for the music they play and the gentle humor which permeates their songwriting.
