Details:
"From the Inside Out" is the sophomore album from Minneapolis'' own Shoeless Revolution. Shoeless has been working hard on this album since April of 2009 wanting to be diligent with providing fans with new music since the release of their debut album "Speak Up." "From the Inside Out" is a concept album describing a troubled person struggling and searching to find their place in the world around them. It highlights the wonderful connections between things that are sometimes overlooked. The album traverses many styles beginning with raw funk in the intro song "One." It then moves to tunes like "Prison Practicality" and "Lights Out" which have a much harder/darker rock feel. The hip-hop tune "Always Creating" features a cavalcade of emcees from all over the US including Big Zach and Unicus of More Than Lights/Kanser, Lucas Dix and Gavin Theory of the Hives Inquiry Squad, and Hyphon from Shoeless'' hometown of La Crosse, WI. "Something New," a fun up-tempo rock tune about getting out of conscious habits, features the Minneapolis one-man entertainment machine Heatbox. The album''s title track "Inside Out" is an Incubus-inspired rock anthem that segues perfectly into Shoeless'' dance-rock hit "On the Run," which features the synth work of Jack Sabol-Williams. Shoeless moves into "Searchin''," a lounge-jazz tune, with extremely soulful vocals by Reed Grimm and an incredible saxophone solo by bassist Ben Peterson that will leave you breathless. The album ends with "Mr. Superstellar," which is actually one of Shoeless'' oldest original songs, and features incredible guitar work by Eric Streske and former Shoeless member and co-writer of the song, Andrew Frick. From beginning to end, "From the Inside Out" delivers listeners with the outstanding musicianship and infectious songwriting you have come to expect from the Shoeless Revolution.
