Details:
i am jen is Jen Scaturro, New York''s electronic-pop "play everything" girl. Known for her future-modern synth & beat programming, eclectic songwriting and multi-instrumentalist antics, Jen has stepped out of the studio to reveal her true identity...
"i am jen is a cross between Massive Attack and sometimes the glitchier bits of Aphex Twin,...she is similar to Suzanne Vega as well - this is true, especially vocally. I would throw in a bit of early Bjork too." (Robert Pisani @ https://www.tradebit.com)
"i am jen''s scientific blend of pop-tronic music is hypnotic, transparent and atmospheric. With a stylistic mix of clever vocal processing, hooky synth lines and electronic beats, Jen has grabbed the attention of BBC radio, national music publications and fans across the globe.
The Broken EP, a self-produced, four song release introducing i am jen, has been embraced with international exposure. John peel at radio 1 added "At the Same Time" to his playlist. Other stations soon followed in Europe and across the web. MTV & HBO have licensed songs for their films and TV shows, and features in Keyboard and Future Music magazines hit newsstands in December 2004.
Synths, bass, guitar, drum machines, melodica, stylophone, accordion...Jen was playing piano before she could walk. She toured the west coast in jazz and pop bands, recorded a single and build a recording studio in her bedroom by age 15.
2 colleges, 3 cities, 4 bands and 7 apartments later jen filled her New York city studio with solitude and fed her computer everything that made sound. Her electro-pop stylings caught the ears of major label stars. Programming beats and synth parts on albums progressed to producing songs for records, film & TV.
"Jen''s solo electrnoic work is thoughtful, provoking, emotional and scientific, whispering tales of imaginary inner worlds. She combines music with art, pictures and various forms o media to provide a more complete picture of the artist behind the stage." (in_2_it @ crater Technology Magazine)

Unsigned Artist of the Month
I am jen (https://www.tradebit.com) is our Unsigned Artist this month, for her release "The Broken EP." This sixteen-minute wonder delivers a megadose of brilliant production on its four tracks. The album was created entirely by Jen in her NYC apartment studio, which houses gear by Apogee, Clavia, Cycling ''74, Digidesign, Elektron, Korg, Native Instruments, and Neumann. The music effortlessly combines cutting-edge electronic music production with a snappy and fun pop sensibility that reminds us what was good about the ''80s. The lead cut, "broken In all the Right Places," conjures "Talking In Your Sleep" by The Romantics, but enjoys a very nice stereo flanging effect. Songs from "The Broken EP" will be featured in upcoming episodes of MTV''s The Real World, Road Rules, and The Challenge, but there''s no record deal yet. Good luck Jen!

"At The Same Time"
Minimalist but perfectly formed, this little number is silky smooth and is complemented by a perfect vocal melody that just ''works.'' The half-synthesised feel of the cello helps to sit it against the synthetic backing and we think adds to the overall tone of the track. The choice of instrumentation and the gentle musical play-offs that go to build the texture of this track form a whole that escapes being muddy, undefined or overly ''separate.''
