Details:
Jay Jesse Johnson was born in rural Indiana. He started playing guitar at the age of ten and began playing clubs in the Midwest at 14 years old, performing Blues-based rock influenced by the music of the late 60’s and early 70’s. His new release "Strange Imagination" is a testament to that loud and gritty sound that has inspired his own style of classic rock and blues. He was the guitarist in the Northeast area band "Cryer" and was also the guitarist on the "Arc Angel" (CBS/Portrait) album. Jay Jesse Johnson appeared on the next three cd’s by Arc Angel’s founding member – Jeff Cannata, and is featured on the 2006 release, "Cannata – Mysterium Magnum." You can also find him with his friends Neal Smith and Dennis Dunaway, original drummer and bassist for Alice Cooper, on the "Deadringer" (Grudge/BMG) album, an arena rock classic. The new CD "Strange Imagination" features Jay on guitar and vocals with B J Zampa (House of Lords) on drums and bassist Ed Corvo . He continues to perform live and is currently working on his second solo album, soon to be released.
