Cynthia Joan and John Hudson have performed their original music throughout southeastern Michigan, including appearances on the Mitch Albom Show and CTN. They were recently Featured Songwriters at Oz''s Music, and their performance at Liberty Square received positive attention in the Ann Arbor News. Cynthia received honorable mention in the 2004 Metro Detroit Songwriting Contest, and her songs have been broadcast on pop radio in Japan. Her first original CD, Take it Away, was rated positively by Detroit reviewers as, "catchy, radio-friendly pop/rock."
John Hudson, also an established songwriter, has extensively studied piano and guitar. He comes from a musical background, as two of his uncles were well-known jazz musicians in this area. Strongly inspired by the music of Joni Mitchell, John writes songs in a light acoustic pop style, and has been performing since a young age.
Both John and Cynthia are former band members of Ypsilanti rock project the Dysfunctionals. Performance credits include The Elbow Room, The Tap Room and many other venues. Cynthia Joan and John Hudson are now regularly seen at the Lighthouse Cafe in Milan, which included them in its second compilation CD project.
