In Twilight''s Haze, Clay Green merges the Old World with the New, and combines traditional instrumentation with a contemporary virtual approach.
Starting with a foundation of World drums and percussion sounds, he layers acoustic guitars with other instruments to morph each song into a full, yet uncluttered, arrangement. Some of the songs have their own distinct characteristics, e.g., Spanish chord progressions, Middle Eastern time signatures, or South American rhythms. Other songs are less easily pigeon-holed, and contain a more ambiguous sound.
Nylon and 12-string guitars are utilized primarily for melody and solo work, although other guitars are used. A few melodic embellishments from the digital realm are also present, including flutes and sitar.
The end result is a rich-sounding hybrid of musical styles-one that meanders through sequences containing classical elements, intercontinental themes, and indigenous beats, all within the framework of the traditional pop/rock song structure.
