All I Need Is You, is a great ballad. Can''t Get You Out Of My Mind, is retro 80''s all the way. On The Other Side, is slower, but people always think love is better some where else, other than right in front of them or love is greener on the other side. The Kings White Horse. is about Heroin. This CD has been a long time in the making for me. Back in 1985, I had started to record 6 original songs. I was a closet singer. I would never have the guts to sing in front of anyone. I took singing lessons, along with musical theater classes, just to get over my stage fright. But nothing seemed to work. I really love to record, there''s no pressure. But at the time I was divorced and a single mom with two kids. It was hard to push forward on my music. So like life, things get pushed aside for others, and life goes on. Around 1989 I was remarried and had my third child. My childhood friend Paula Rose had called me up to go out. There was this family restaurant in West Newton MA. called the Troubadour, where we grew up. They were having Karaoke there every Thursday night, first with Joanne and Jethro Mills, then with Dan Maloof. Paula thought it would be a great chance for me to finally sing in front of people. I was scared as hell, but I went. Through the rest of the years, (it took many many years) I can honestly say, I finally got over the worst part of singing in public, thanks to Karaoke. It costs a lot less than musical theater, and is a lot more fun. You screw up, so what! You''re out to have a good time. As the years passed, I had started my own business, Lizzy the Clown Entertainment. I do face painting and balloon animals for kids parties, also balloon deliveries and hall decorating. So I decided to all one more thing. Karaoke for all age parties. Things were going well until...
Aug. 15, 2001. I was traveling on the highway when out of nowhere, I was hit from behind. The guy that hit me, crushed his car up to his windshield, into the back of my van. God must have been with me on that day. The fact that I was driving an 8 passenger van, is the only reason I''m still here today. Being in constant pain, dizzy, numbness in both hands, unable to walk well, or lift anything, my life just stopped dead in it''s tracks. About 7 months go by. I''m still in constant pain, feeling very fatigued, numbness in both hands, and having a hard time with my muscles, with walking and lifting. Being unable to do much of anything, I started to look through things. This is where my new life''s journey begins. Phase Two! I found my old studio, 8 track, half inch, reel to reel. The only copy of my unfinished original songs. Now the hard job was to find someone to get my music off this reel. I called around to see if anyone had an old reel to reel machine, all I got was "Lady, they don''t make them anymore!" I finally called a Daddy''s Junky Music store in NH. I asked the person who answered the phone, David Sumner, if they had a reel to reel half inch 8 track machine to buy or rent, so I could get my music off an old reel to reel. He said, Like everyone else, that they don''t make them anymore. But!, he had one at home, and would be happy to do it for me. We planned to meet. While working on getting my music off the old reel to reel, and removing the old vocal tracks, so I could redo them, my two friends Claire and Sue were having a combined 40th birthday party, (invite was to an 80th.) So I decided to rewrite one of my songs and turn it into a Happy 40th Birthday Claire and Sue song, which I recorded with the old music track and David''s help. That was my gift to them, which I did sing at the party. Now I still needed to redo my songs. I wanted the music updated with a marketable sound. I was finally able to go out one night with friends, singing Karaoke, when my friend Colleen, who is a great singer, was there. She introduced me to Micheal Femino, she was a singer in his band. We got to talking. He also teaches music, composes and produces music. He said he would be interested in helping me redo my original songs. Now, it''s three and a half years later since that horrible day, and because of my car accident, I now have Fibromyalgia, which is pain in your muscles. I have to be careful not to over do things. Or at least try not to, because I always pay for it later, with pain weakness, numbness and fatigue. I''m proud to say I finally completed this CD, it only took me 19 years! I''m now working on my second CD. I promise, it will not take as long.
Special thanks to my family and friends. To everyone that helped me make this possible, and to all the people who never stopped believing in me. Also to Christina, Christos, Claire, Dan, Paula and all my friends from The Olde Irish Ale House in Dedham MA. who have the best group of Karaoke singers and Micheal Femino, who made all this possible, of Main Attraction Productions @https://www.tradebit.com Thank you everyone
